Germany 6 - Trier

This is Trier.

Yves was here as a kid from 1973 to 1979. It is an old Roman city and it has some great old roman ruins and great shops.

Germany 5 - Bad Kreuznach

Here is some photos of Bad Kreuznach, it was a lovely village with some old bits and new bits... The first two photos are from the balcony from our hotel. Very inspiring...

Germany 4 Paderborn - Family

Here is Yves' uncle and aunty. We stayed with them for 4 nights and then headed off to see some other parts of Germany.

Germany 3 - Paderborn

Here we are still in Paderborn, so here is the main cathedral. It had some great painted objects inside, but they came out all fuzzy on the camera.... never mind!

Here we are after drinking a hot chocolate and eating cake at a cafe near the Pader river...

After Germany we are both on diets...mmm too many cake, sausages and hot chocolates.

Germany Paderborn

We travelled to Paderborn to visit Yves' uncle and aunty. While we were there we also caught up with a friend's sister... which was great.

This is near Paderborn, a place called Schloss Neuhaus. They had a lovely Renaissance castle and beautiful gardens all around.





This is other building is in Paderborn and most of the shoppping part had buildings like this.

Germany Cologne

Here is the Famous cathedral at Cologne.

We caught the train from Paris to Cologne and then hired a car to tour about.

Bayeux

We also went to Bayeux, here is the cathedral were the Tapestry was put... We don't have a picture of the Tapestry, but I am sure you might know the one!

Giverny

Here we at Monet's house in Giverny.... as you can see there are lots of flowers, but you can't see the thousands of tourists that were also there...the pond with the water lillies was very nice and peaceful despite the road right next door.

Pont L'eveque

Here is Yves in front of the tourist office, in a town called 'Pont L'eveque'... it is ten minutes from Caen.

Old House

This is a picture the house where Yves' dad use to live. It is five minutes from a town called Caen. It is a place called Verson. I think his dad was born in the house...

Rouen's Old houses

Here are some old houses in Rouen. They are near the cathedral and most of them are now shops...

Here is the Cathedral with a "Monet" inspired light show. It was very cool!

Here is Yves in front of the old clock in Rouen.

This is the town where "Joan of Arc" was judged and burnt at the stake...

Despite this there were many beautiful buildings.

He painted it many times...

We just spent five days in Normandie.

It was great to see many beautiful things...

Toulon

Hi this is us in Toulon, near where Yves's parents have a unit. The town is very interesting and you can see why people live there. The only thing was, when we went there is was 36°C... too hot for me!

This is us at Rambouillet, the Chateau was okay, but too expensive. So we just had a walk in the park. There were no loos about either, so we had to got to a cafe. Another hole in the ground loo, my favourite...  

Here I am playing table soccer, waiting for the next rain back to Paris...Yves was obviously in training (perhaps for the world cup), as he thrashed me... and so he was very happy...

I was very happy to point to the bum of this sculpture, but Yves wasn't very helpful and so I was way off.

Goddesses in Athens

Here are some of the goddess I found in Athens. I have never seen these types of goddesses before. They were also very abstract and lovely to draw. Just before they stopped me!
